In the Energy Gray Zone
That’s the toughest place to be, when you are recuperated, but you are not yet stimulated; neither “feeling like” you are increasing your energy by sleeping, resting or recovering any more, yet not feeling invigorated because you have not yet put your body in motion.
That, is the gray zone when you are managing your energy and it can be one of the trickiest experiences.
It’s a very subjective experience, because you may actually need to recuperate more but either can’t or don’t feel like it. This is often explained by the experience that over recuperating will make you tired, and under recuperating will make you feel tired as well; it’s only a recuperated body in motion that feels energetic.
Motion is what makes the difference, but only when you are really operating from a position of strength, which means an energy reserve that enables you to adapt with resiliency to stressors.
The art and science of managing your energy, or “personal energy management” is what we learn to get better at maintaining a recuperated body that feels energetic, not a worn down body, that needs to constantly be stimulated to keep going.
There is a big difference between the two.
